Deepti Singh – Professional Artist Biography

Deepti Singh is a self-taught realist artist whose work gracefully bridges the realms of classical realism and contemporary expression. Originally from the culturally rich city of Agra, India, and currently based in the United Arab Emirates, Deepti’s artistic journey is one marked by transformation, dedication, and a deepening of both craft and vision.

A graduate of the International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT), her creative foundation was laid through the detailed disciplines of fashion illustration and croquis. What began over a decade ago as a fascination with figure drawing gradually evolved into a profound engagement with fine art. Transitioning from sketchbooks and pencils to canvas and oils, Deepti developed a personal artistic language rooted in realism, yet open to the imaginative and emotive.

Working primarily in oil paint, her practice incorporates traditional techniques such as underpainting, blocking-in, glazing, and dry brushing—all layered with precision and purpose to achieve a distinctive richness in tone, depth, and atmosphere. Her paintings often feature lifelike portraits set against dreamlike or symbolic backgrounds, offering viewers a glimpse into both the outer likeness and inner world of her subjects.

Deepti’s art is defined not only by its technical strength but also by its emotional resonance.
